PingPup Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 21, 2026
At PingPup, we take the confidentiality and privacy of our customers seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, process, store, and safeguard your information when you access our edge monitoring platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to deliver our telemetry services:
- Account Information: Your email address and securely hashed authentication credentials.
- Monitored Target Endpoints: The target fully-qualified domain names (FQDNs), URLs, or IP addresses you designate for availability checks.
- Alert Dispatch Configurations: Masked webhook URLs (e.g., Slack, Discord, custom HTTP endpoints) and push notification tokens.
When our edge nodes ping your configured targets, we record technical telemetry including HTTP response status codes, Round-Trip Time (RTT) latency, public SSL/TLS certificate validity timestamps, and public DNS records.
2. Infrastructure & Data Protection
We rely on industry-leading, SOC2-compliant cloud infrastructure, edge networks, and Merchant of Record partners to process data securely. We do not store raw credit card data.
- All customer data is housed in cryptographically isolated multi-tenant databases with strict Row-Level Security (RLS) enforcement.
- Telemetry in transit is protected using TLS 1.3 encryption with modern cipher suites.
- Sensitive alert endpoints and webhook secrets stored in your account are masked and decrypted only during alert dispatch.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process your data strictly to:
- Deliver multi-region uptime checks, quorum voting, and incident alerting.
- Authenticate user sessions and protect against malicious abuse.
- Send transactional account notifications, security alerts, and invoice receipts.
- Provide anonymized, aggregated availability metrics on public or custom status pages you choose to publish.
We never sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or monitoring telemetry to advertising brokers.
4. Your Rights & Data Portability
Under applicable regulations (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to:
- Request access to all personal data and monitoring logs associated with your account.
- Export your telemetry and incident history in standard formats (e.g., CSV audit ledger).
- Request permanent deletion ("Right to be Forgotten") of your account and all associated monitor records.
To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected].
5. Cookies & Local Storage
PingPup utilizes essential session tokens and local storage strictly to preserve user authentication and theme preferences (Dark vs. Light mode). We do not employ third-party advertising trackers.
